Breast implants

It all started in 2011. I had breast implants. That was one of the best decisions of my life. I was 40, and for the first time I felt being a woman. An incredible feeling! I hadn't understood, how much the small breasts I had from nature really had affected my female self-esteem negatively.

I really do recommend breast implants to every woman who is not satisfied with her breasts. I don't claim, that the breasts are what makes a woman a woman, but you just can't deny it: they are a big part of the female identity. For those women, who have beautiful and right sized breast of nature, it's easy to condemn and say that "I would never do anything like that". But they can't understand. And it is none of their business, but it's up to that woman who has to live her life with those small breasts.

I sometimes think, that I should have got my implants much earlier. Instead I now do appreciate it even more. The operation was worth every cent I paid for it. The recovery also went completely without any complication in my case. I was back at work the day after the operation (I work with computer, i.e. I don't have a physical work). Of course I had some pain, but not more than I could endure.

Fat-transfer to breasts

I have really small breasts of nature, which had limited the size of my implants. In other words, my implants were quite small (B-cup). Later, I wished to make my breasts a bit bigger with fat-transfer. Fat-transfer to my breasts was made in that same clinic, the one that promises Finnish quality and safety. As I mentioned earlier, fat-transfer usually needs to be repeated because a big part of the fat cells do not survive.

In my case however, when I started to plan for my second fat-transfer to breasts, I was informed that a second fat-transfer was not possible, because I didn't have enough fat. I really do wonder why this wasn't anticipated already before my first fat-transfer, since my fat volume has been the same for years. The result anyway is, that the fat from my first (and only) fat-transfer has disappeared from my breasts almost completely, as well as those 5000 euros that I paid for it.

Another surgeon, specialized in fat-transfers, has told me later that he would never had agreed to do fat-transfer to my breasts, because there simply isn't enough fat.

An optimal starting point for fat-transfer to breasts, is when you have big volumes of fat in some "wrong" places, for example on your tighs or belly.

Good to know after fat-transfer

  • The fat cells tranfered do not like cold. In other words, if you have the fat-transfer done in the cold season, you should stay inside as much as possible for 4-5 weeks after the fat-transfer.
  • The fat cells transfered neither like tobacco smoke. If you smoke, you should stop preferably several months before the fat-transfer.
  • After the fat-transfer, you should eat as carbohydrate-rich food as possible. So this is a great opportunity to enjoy the sweet things in life with good conscience 😉No slimming or diets for at least two months after the fat-transfer!
  • Ubiquinol (Q10) helps the transfered fat cells to survive. You can buy it from a pharmacy or a health food store. It is a good idea to get it in advance, and to start eating it about one week before the fat-transfer. After the fat-transfer you should eat it for at least two weeks.
  • Inflammatory drugs should not be taken for 2 weeks before fat-transfer, since they might cause unnecessary bleeding and bruises. Also fish oil capsules, omega 3-6 and garlic might cause bleeding tendency, and the recommendation is to avoid them for several weeks before fat-transfer.
