I have been doing microneedling to my face at home 1-2 times a week for a long time, which has firmed my skin very effectively.

The absolutely best results, I have got with the microneedling product combination* of SC, which additionally to the skin roller includes their serum, specifically developed for the aftercare of microneedling.

I have tried a lot of different microneedling products, but when starting to use the products of SC*,

I noticed the firming impact really soon, in a couple of weeks.

The dermaroller:
The dermaroller of Swiss Clinic* consists of the helve and a 0.5 mm:s needle head with needles made of surgical steel. The dermaroller of SC has interchangeable needle heads.

In addition to the fact that this makes it inexpensive to replace the roller, it has made it easy to roll alternately with needles of different lengths (0,2 and 0,5 mm), which in combination with the serum gives an incredible glow to the skin.

I refuse to use any concealers, I don't like the feeling of being "puttied". In this picture, my face is totally natural. You wouldn't think it's the skin of a middle-aged, would you? 😉

The serum*: is a unique skin treatment product, which is developed in cooperation with a Swedish clinic, specialized in skin diseases. The serum contains high concentrations of hyaluronic acids (five different types!) and peptide complexes, which promote the natural skin regeneration.

How does microneedling work?

Microneedling is not a temporary fad. It has been scientifically studied around the world since the 1990:s.
You roll your skin with a skinroller, which has hundreds of small needles on it.

The impact of microneedling is duplex:

1) You make "channels" into your skin, which eventuates that the active substance of your skincare products are transported into the deeper layers of your skin. In other words, the skincare products used in conjunction with microneedling are quite crucial. My own recommendation is definitely the serum of SC*.

2) At the same time, the microscopic "wounds" start a healing process in your skin, as a result of which your skin starts producing new elastin and collagen.

Microneedling is also an excellent way to reduce cellulites with just simple home treatment. After four weeks of treatment my cellulites were significantly reduced. With regular treatment I have got rid of them almost completely.

Improving skin color

Microneedling also improves the color of your skin. Later, I have improved the color of my skin even more, with a food supplement which impacts on the melanin (the color pigment) in the body. I use the capsules to avoid greying hair, but since they impact on the melanin production, you notice the effect also in the skin.

Microneedling how often?

How often the microneedling treatment should actually be done? This is not an easy question, and from the internet you may find partly contradictory information.

I have rolled 1-2 times a week for many years myself. Still, I don't want to claim this being the only and final truth.

I am a pretty thorough person, and I wanted asurance that at least I haven't done totally wrong. So I searched for information about microneedling from scientic as well as not-scientic sources, and the result is this summary of mine, about how often microneedling treatments are recommended to be done.

In this case (as in many other matters as well) I strive to get a view which on one hand is based on objective, scientic facts, and on the other hand I trust my own common sense and listen to my own body. I try, test and follow up very precisely, and I finish my own routines to get the optimal results.

Gel for firm eyelids

For my upper eyelids I used BM Regenerating Intense Serum Gel for several years. It has had a firming impact on my eyelids. The gel also contains UV-protection. It gives a light, little bit shiny surface to the skin, which makes me look fresher. I put the gel all way up to the eyebrows.

Later, I have began to use the Face serum* of SC also to firm my eyelids. Its' active substances are the specialty of SC: hyaluronic acids and peptide complexes, which are not in the serum of BM. I am really satisfied with the results. I must admit that I am a fan of SC, but their products are simply so good.Daytime I don’t use any other products for my eyelids. At night I use Environ AVST.

Environ AVST skin care products

Environ AVST is a skincare product line that contains vitamins A and C. There are five different creams, with different strengths of vitamin A. You start by using the mildest, and get the skin used to the vitamin A step by step.

Since 2013 I have used the strongest one (Environ AVST 5), and since 2014 in combination with microneedling*, see above. I can recommend Environ AVST. It doesn’t of course lift your face, but when used according to instructions, it does improve and rejuvenate your skin; my skin is firmer and more elastic. I put Environ AVST mornings and evenings.

Products containing vitamin A drie your skin, and since 2015 I have additionally used the Environ intensive super moisturizer to moisturize my skin. The moisturizer I put only before going to sleep.

Earlier I also used the focus hydrating serum of Environ, and it was quite okay. Anyhow, the SC serum, combined with regular microneedling (see above) has given the absolutely best results, so nowadays I don’t use any other serums.

The Vitamion / Environ roll-cit dermaroller, that I used in the beginning, was a disappointment. The relation between quality and price (129 €) was not what I expected. I could hardly feel the needling in my skin, and when I asked the retailer, she found out that the needles (0,1 mm) are in some way fastened sideways, so that the needling would not be too heavy. For microneedling I recommend the Swiss skin roller described above (49 €), which I also began to use myself.
